A new year, a new building – exciting times for MMS! The Board of Governors is excited to begin this year! We are looking for a few parent board members – please email our board chair, Marnie Hilland at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like details on joining the board.
Did you know? Maria Montessori School was started in 1997 by a group of parents!

We currently have opens on the Board of Governors at this time – parent and independent position.
For the parent position, we are seeking a member who has a passion for Montessori education and would like to see the continued growth and success of our school.
For the independent positions, we are seeking members who can give us their expertize and guidance in the following areas: finance, marketing, education, and technology. Please encourage your friends and colleagues to consider joining us!
Meetings are once a month and we are currently focusing on long term planning for the schools growth and development – it is an exciting time for the school!

Maria Montessori School, like all non-profit corporations is required to have a Board of Directors. This Board has the legal and financial responsibility for the operation of the school.
The Board is responsible for long range goal setting and planning, financial integrity, communication with stakeholders, policy review and development, Board education and development, evaluation of Board member performance, nominations and fundraising.
The Board oversees the full administration and operations of the School. The Board will liaise with the Head of School to ensure all educational aspects are being scrutinized.
The Board takes into consideration parent and staff feedback and strategic plan when determining policy and considering such things as program growth and facility requirements.
